Read Lake Rules

  • Anglers fish the lake entirely at their own risk and the owners accept no liability for personal injury and /or loss or damage to personal property. By signing a copy of these rules, you confirm that you are accepting full liability for any personal injury and/or loss or damage to your property whilst you are at Lords Mead, however caused.
  • NO UNGENTLEMANLY CONDUCT (which includes casting over other members lines without consulting where they are fishing)
  • STRICTLY NO GUESTS OR VISITORS, YOU RISK LOSING YOUR MEMBERSHIP IF CAUGHT WITH A NON-MEMBER IN YOUR SWIM. Partners and members children are allowed.
  • NO RESERVED SWIMS
  • NO ‘SELF HOOKING DEVICES’ TO BE USED AT ANYTIME.
  • No nuts i.e. peanuts/tiger nuts.
  • No fires, boats (controlled or uncontrolled).
  • Please contact the fishery managers if you get any tackle in the trees. Do not pull for a break.
  • No FIREARMS, i.e., rifles or pistols.
  • No disposable B&Q’s.
  • No using the woods as a toilet, you must bring suitable equipment to be able to take your toilet (poo) home.
  • All litter must be removed including lines, hooks etc. This is regardless of who left it in your swim – If it is there, remove it from the lake completely, i.e., TAKE IT HOME.
  • Braid must only be used on a hook length, marker float or spod rod.
  • NO LEADCORE LEADERS.
  • There will be no moving of fish except when notified by the fishery manager.
  • No rods to be left unattended.
  • NO ARTIFICIAL/PLASTIC BAITS I.E PLASTIC CORN ETC.
  • All anglers must carry the Lords Mead recommended fish antiseptic (same as Lowton). This must be used on all hooked areas and surface damage to the fish.
  • Each angler is responsible for the safety of the fish, i.e., NO DEATH RIGS.
  • NO PUBLICITY OF VENUE/FISH including ALL social media sites.
  • All anglers must use the lake at their own risk.
  • Each angler may use the maximum of 2 rods, however a 3rd from 1st November till the end of February.
  • No ZIG style fishing.
  • All members are bailiffs and are expected to challenge anyone they do not recognise or who is disobeying any rules. Any offenders should be cautioned, and his name reported to the fishery managers.
  • Carp must not be retained for no longer than 30 minutes maximum.
  • Parking in designated areas only. NO VECHICLES BEYOND THE BOTTOM OF THE TRACK (THIS INCLUDES THE DAM WALL)
  • No bivvy’s around the channel area (near the main entrance), this is a stalking area only which a maximum of 1 rod only to be used.
  • Please ensure that gates are locked upon entering and leaving the lake.
