  • YOU MUST NOTIFY ALAN GREENWOOD BY TEXT WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO FISH. THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY; ANY MEMBERS CAUGHT NOT NOTIFING ALAN RISK LOSING THEIR TICKET. ALAN’S MOBILE IS 07711597465. PLEASE TEXT WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE LAKE WITH THE KIT NUMBER YOU ARE USING, RESERVOIR YOU ARE FISHING AND NIGHTS/DAY YOU INTEND TO FISH BEFORE SETTING UP
  • Anglers fish the lake entirely at their own risk and the owners accept no liability for personal injury and /or loss or damage to personal property. By signing a copy of these rules, you confirm that you are accepting full liability for any personal injury and/or loss or damage to your property whilst you are at the Lowton Estate, however caused.
  • Please observe the new fish welfare procedure which must always be adhered to.
  • The dam wall is a very tricky place to fish especially getting up and down the wall, it is the members responsibility to ensure their own safety. Also, you must not set up anywhere near the tower area with the minimum fishing distance of 50 metres.
  • The fishery supplies ALL carp cradles, landing nets and weigh/recovery slings. Please do not bring any of these items onto the estate.
  • NO UNGENTLEMANLY CONDUCT (which includes casting over other members lines without consulting where they are fishing)
  • STRICTLY NO GUESTS OR VISITORS, YOU RISK LOSING YOUR MEMBERSHIP IF CAUGHT WITH A NON-MEMBER IN YOUR SWIM. Partners and members children are allowed.
  • NO RESERVED SWIMS
  • No nuts i.e., peanuts/tiger nuts.
  • No fires, boats (controlled or uncontrolled).
  • No FIREARMS, i.e., rifles or pistols.
  • No using the woods as a toilet, you must bring suitable equipment to be able to take your toilet (poo) home.
  • All litter must be removed including lines, hooks etc. This is regardless of who left it in your swim – If it is there, remove it from the lake completely, i.e., TAKE IT HOME.
  • Braid must only be used on a hook length, marker float or spod rod.
  • NO BRAIDED LEADERS (LEADED OR UNLEADED).
  • NO ‘SELF HOOKING DEVICES’ TO BE USED AT ANYTIME.
  • There will be no moving of fish except when notified by the fishery manager/bailiff.
  • No rods to be left unattended.
  • All members must have chest waders/boots by their rods when the water level is down.
  • NO ARTIFICIAL/PLASTIC BAITS I.E PLASTIC CORN ETC.
  • All anglers must carry the Lowton Manor recommended fish antiseptic. This must be used on all hooked areas and surface damage to the fish.
  • Each angler is responsible for the safety of the fish, i.e., NO DEATH RIGS.
  • NO PUBLICITY OF VENUE/FISH including ALL social media sites.
  • Each angler may use the maximum of 3 rods on Luxhay. 2 rods only on Leigh.
  • No ZIG style fishing.
  • All members are bailiffs and are expected to challenge anyone they do not recognise or who is disobeying any rules. Any offenders should be cautioned, and his name reported to the fishery manager or bailiffs. This includes anyone walking around the estate who does not have permission.
  • Carp must not be retained for no longer than 30 minutes maximum.
  • Please ensure that gates are locked upon entering and leaving the lake.
  • IF ANY MEMBER DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE RULES, THEY MUST SPEAK TO THE FISHERY MANAGER OR BAILIFFS BEFORE THE SESSION STARTS.
